I would first like to clarify my specialty, so that there are no misunderstandings.........
Unlike Sigmund Freud, I am
not
a psychiatrist!
I am a
pediatrician
who has discovered a strong passion and skill for the
diagnosing and the
medication management of a large variety of
pediatric mental health
conditions. With an increase in pediatric mental health conditions post-COVID and the changes in primary care that have resulted in many primary care providers being forced to limit the time of each appointment, there is an increasing demand, yet often a shortage of, child-adolescent psychiatrists. This is a nationwide problem that is worse in smaller towns and less populated states. It is my hope that my newfound passion will serve to lessen this gap in providing
mental health diagnosis and medication treatment for kids and teens
in
San Antonio, TX
and across Texas.
I accept pediatric patients from
ages 3-18 years old
(the
first
appointment
including the patient
must occur before their 18th birthday, and they may continue until age 21yo)

Please Note: I do
NOT provide counseling, play therapy, CBT, ADOS/ CARS autism testing or Psychological testing*
*The overwhelming majority of children and teens do NOT require "Psych Testing" in order to get a medical diagnosis of any of the conditions listed above!
(Pediatricians and child-adolescent psychiatrists are
physicians who are able to evaluate, diagnose, and treat these conditions
without expensive and time-consuming "Psych Testing."
With extensive experience with autism, I am able to discuss signs both for and against this diagnosis in your child. However, I cannot perform the specific "ADOS or CARS" testing that insurance plans or ABA therapy might require to authorize autism services.
