About Pinecone Mental Health Pediatrics

At Pinecone Mental Health Pediatrics, I am dedicated to diagnosing and treating pediatric mental health conditions in the greater San Antonio area including Uvalde, TX. When working with children and teens facing mental health challenges, I take a thorough and thoughtful approach, asking detailed questions to uncover underlying issues that might otherwise go unnoticed. I believe in empowering young patients to take an active role in their treatment by encouraging them to share feedback about their symptoms and medications during appointments. This collaborative process not only helps them feel more in control but also reduces frustration with treatments and builds the confidence they need to advocate for their well-being as they grow. Input from children—no matter how young—paired with insights from parents and teachers, is invaluable in creating a holistic understanding of their needs.

As a pediatrician, I also cherish the opportunity to connect with kids on their level, engaging my playful side to make visits enjoyable and meaningful.

Services and Resources

Teen Mental Health

Welcome to Pinecone Mental Health Pediatrics! My goal is to help children and teens address mental health issues and if necessary, find medications that improve their symptoms like sadness, anxiety, or focus issues. To do this, I need honest feedback from my patients about symptoms, daily challenges, and how medications may affect them. I’m here to empower my patients with their treatment options and support children and teens with any mental health challenges they may have—and create a treatment plan that works!

Telehealth

Telemedicine, also known as telehealth, brings the convenience of virtual care to your home. It allows you to access mental health evaluations and receive appropriate medications for your child or teen without the need for travel. While telehealth offers significant convenience, it does come with certain limitations. Physical exams cannot be conducted remotely, so additional steps may be needed to gather essential measurements like your child’s height, weight, or blood pressure. If these measurements are required, they will be discussed during your appointment.

Child Behavior

Need more information about your teen's behavior and why they may be acting out? Are you afraid your child may be experiencing bullying at school? Do you have questions about what causes ADHD, how it can be diagnosed and what treatments are available? Would you like guidance on what to do when your child is not sleeping well? Visit Pinecone Mental Health Pediatrics' child behavior resource page for expert information on these topics, and more. Your child's mental health is our practice's top priority.
